What Dominique enjoys most about being creative in design is the ability to be her authentic self through her maximal personality and statement fashion style. She truly personifies her company's vision to redefine the narrative of interior design by creating beautiful, functional spaces that are accessible on different levels..
Design is about evolution. Culture evolves too—but preserving the essence, the meaning, and the legacy behind it? That’s non-negotiable. For me, a fashion-forward space isn’t just about style—it’s about making a statement, holding space for heritage, and allowing clients to see themselves reflected in every detail. Remix Living has actively partnered with Drexel University’s Co‑op program, welcoming a rotating cohort of interior design students into a hands‑on, real‑world learning environment. This collaboration bridges academic study with professional practice—amplifying underrepresented voices and expanding opportunities for future design professionals.
As a Black, woman‑owned firm rooted in Philadelphia, Remix Living's mission is to democratize access to exceptional design. By offering free showroom appointments staffed by Drexel student interns, the firm cultivates emerging talent while ensuring community members benefit from high‑quality guidance at no cost.
Through mentorship and paid internships, Remix Living invests in the next generation of designers—prioritizing inclusion, diversity, and practical experience. This commitment directly challenges inequities in the design industry and helps close representation gaps from inside the profession.
Their social impact extends beyond student mentorship: Remix Living actively shares professional insights via "The Remix Rewind" vlog and community programming, making design education and career insights broadly accessible.
