Dominique Calhoun

Dominique Calhoun is a designer who believes every space should tell a story layered, personal, and unapologetically bold. Known for her over-the-top maximalist aesthetic, Dominique’s true gift lies in uncovering the essence of her clients’ individuality. She digs deep to understand their style, taking pride in her meticulous attention to detail, obsession with quality, and ability to collaborate with skilled partners across every trade who help bring her visions to life.

For Dominique, design is more than an art form its self-expression. Her creative process mirrors her own maximal personality and statement fashion sense. Through Remix Living, she continues to redefine the narrative of interior design by creating beautiful, functional spaces that are accessible on multiple levels, spaces that feel both aspirational and attainable.

“Design is about evolution,” she often says. Culture evolves too but preserving the essence, the meaning, and the legacy behind it is a non-negotiable. For Dominique, a fashion-forward space isn’t just about style it’s about making a statement, honoring heritage, and allowing clients to see themselves reflected in every detail. Her mission is simple yet powerful; to make exceptional design not a luxury, but a standard in the way people live and experience their space.

  Our give back

At Remix Living, we believe design should not only be seen it should be shared. Our mentorship initiative was created to open doors for emerging interior designers while expanding access to quality design within the community. 

Through partnerships with local universities and design programs, students are immersed in a comprehensive, real-world curriculum that mirrors the pace and process of a professional studio. Each participant gains experience in budget planning, site surveys, project sourcing, vendor communication, and sales, developing both creative and business acumen. 

In addition, our interns lead Free Showroom Consultations that connect them directly with everyday people seeking access to great furniture and thoughtful design. These sessions give students an authentic platform to apply their skills in real time while providing studio customers with personalized design guidance at no cost. 

As a Black, woman-owned firm rooted in Philadelphia, Remix Living has funded this initiative entirely out of pocket. Being committed to ensuring every student receives mentorship, resources, and paid opportunities.
